May has wound down, the temperature is increasing, and summer is just around the corner – well, three weeks away. Yay!

The planters are hung from the frame of the pergola, and begonias are showing off everywhere!

They are so bright and cheerful, especially in this orangey-red colour.

Some are a softer pinkish red, but all are lovely. I planted flowers in my railing planters, cherry tomatoes and chives in the planter tub, and herbs in a couple of other railing planters. The herbs were seeds, not seedlings, so my fingers are crossed that they’ll actually grow.

Last year my friend #JudiStiles gave me this pottery plant bowl and at the time it had begonias in it. So, it seems appropriate to plant new ones this season in her memory.

Of course my wee talisman accompanied me on my planting journey!

He lives in my camera bag and pops out at any opportune moment.

The planter placed to catch the morning sun has petunias in it – hopefully, they’ll survive. The opening bud made an excellent macro subject!

It’s the season for hopes and dreams and wishes as spring winds down and the warmth of summer entices us outside more and more. Enjoy the seasons as they pass – each if fleeting and each is beautiful in its own way.
