Summer is the time when people get together with friends and family, usually to enjoy some sort of outdoor activity. For me, it’s wandering around the yard making photos of plants in the garden and the critters in the house.

My parsley is growing well and will definitely accompany salads that will include (when they finally turn red or yellow) the cherry tomatoes that are ALMOST ready…

We’ve had SO much rain, and so little sun, that the foliage everywhere is lush and thick, but the flowers and fruits are having a tough time shining through. Still many are doing their best!

Inside the house, my anniversary roses are still providing colour and a delicate scent in my office, making time spent there a joy.

And, of course, Harley and Lucy continue to be willing (most of the time) to model for me inside!

We got to spend time with family yesterday at Ritchie’s summer place in Wickham. Strategically placed overlooking the Washedemoak Lake, it’s a wonderful venue for a family get-together. As usual, there was a copious amount of food so I sent for an hour-long bicycle ride this morning in the drizzle to try and wear a bit of it off!
I’d call this a great week-end!

Love the flowers and your growing gardens. Good you got to enjoy family with food and fellowship in a beautiful place! Happy counting weekend!
