It’s hard to believe that Christmas Day will be one week from today. I am definitely lacking in the seasonal cheer department.

Writing a bit in this amazing journal book helps some. It’s quite a treasure hunt that perhaps, in some distant time, some will look through and find my thoughts mixed in with those already in the book.

Meanwhile, the new suet bell I bought the other day is a hit with our feathered friends. The smaller birds, sparrows and chickadees, seem to enjoy it the most – although the occasional blue jay gives it a try.

Another bird showed up too – one I don’t recognize. Then again, I’m not much of a ‘birder’. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable can enlighten me about this one?

Meanwhile, given the wind and rain pounding on the windows, even if it is warmer than recent days, I think I’ll take Lucy’s advice and stay inside – where it’s warm and dry.

Now to curl up with my journal and relax for the rest of the day. Not much happening around here. In David’s honour, we’ll be having homemade macaroni and cheese for our Christmas dinner this year. I’ll miss the leftover turkey sandwiches but I just don’t have the ambition to cook a big dinner.
