The month is coming to a close. We “sort-of” had a storm at the beginning of the month (i.e. came in like a lion) so perhaps this bitter cold is March’s way of going “out like a lamb”?
At least we have sunshine for Easter Sunday morning. We have had phenomenal amounts of rain in the past few weeks and the beaver dam down the road is like a raging waterfall below their lodge.

I took a drive out past Poley Mountain to check on the Waterford Waterworks. When I stepped out of the car the roar of the waterfall sounded more like Niagara than Waterford. I have never seen so much water barreling through the gorge.

Starting many miles beyond the bridge, the water is forced through the narrow gap leading to the bridge on the Cedar Camp Road and gains momentum as it passes beneath the road.

The torrent roared beneath me and came out the other side, joining with the other stream to continue on its way down toward Sussex.

From the junction, it headed down past Caroline’s and Tim’s home just above the banks of the creek and on toward town, the sound drowning out all others. Despite the volume, it was strangely soothing to listen to the rushing water racing loudly over the rocks.
They say music is soothing but so are the sounds of nature.

Goodbye March.
