Finally, some sunshine (after what seemed like endless days of rain) and a bit of warmth! I took a tour around our town.

The geese are nesting at Mud Lake (yes, that’s really the name of it, not just a description of the shore) so hopefully soon there’ll be wee goslings paddling about.

The flooding has receded and left a bit of a mess below Castle Bridge in the middle of town. Perhaps the new walking bridge being built a few hundred feet downstream will alleviate some of the erosion along the banks.

The beaver pond down the road from our house seems to have stabilized behind the dam, although the beavers do have some repair work to do around the base where water is still cascading through. Hopefully, they won’t totally denude all of the trees in the area.

Pussywillows are true harbingers of spring and better weather!

Meanwhile there are still remnants of last autumn to be found.

The buds are out on the Flaming Bush (a gift a few years ago from my cousin Judy Hutton) and soon things will be truly bright and green.

It’s a beautiful day for an eclipse – that we are going to enjoy from our deck. I don’t have the protective gear needed for my lenses, so there won’t be any photos here tomorrow but hopefully everyone will enjoy the experience!
