What a joy it was to wake up this morning and see bright sunlight and to realize that we were having temperatures warm enough to enjoy a pedal around town!

On my way home from a 6+km ride, I went by the start to the Buchanan Street extension (where my friend’s house will be built this year) and was delighted to find that work had begun on cutting the road through. Yay!

We always leave our garden remnants in place for the winter to feed the birds and this is one of the remaining Black Eyed Susan “eyes”. Meanwhile, everything else is beginning to “bud out”.

The white lilac tree is getting ready to show off.

So is my “Flaming Bush” – a delight three seasons of the year.

Yesterday’s baking effort included lemon cinnamon muffins – melt in your mouth – along with an apple crisp. One must have fruit, right?
While I was out and about this morning, Joel and Harley organized the deck furniture and our new (larger) rug.

Under Harley’s watchful eyes, the BBQ has already been used once.

And the rug is Harley approved!

Down on the rapidly greening lawn, a fat robin was busy hauling worms out of the ground – and scolding me for interrupting his/her meal.
NOW it feels like spring. There is hope for more warmth and sunshine to come.
