For the last few days, the temperatures have been noticeably warmer, the sun has strength in its rays, and the grass is turning a vibrant spring green. Yeah. These things definitely help to elevate one’s mood and stimulate the urge to get out and enjoy it.

Lucy’s a house cat, so she gets to enjoy the sunbeams through windows and listen to the birds chirping (and tormenting her) through the screens. I don’t think she minds.

Yesterday I went to Saint John to enjoy lunch and a visit with two friends I hadn’t seen in eons. Since it was a beautiful day, and I was a bit early, I decided to tour my old south-end neighbourhood to see how it had changed. I stopped below the armouries and was delighted to see a park at the entrance to “tin can beach”. It overlooks the harbour and the Bay of Fundy, as well as Patridge Island and its causeway.

Since it was a clear day it was fun to watch a tugboat heading out around he island to meet up with a ship on the far side.

These cranes are HUGE!

The armouries haven’t changed much. When my son was a teenager, he was a cadet and several of their events were held in that building.
Most of the light standards in the uptown area look like this!

A fitting tribute to the port and Saint John’s sea faring connections.
It was a great day that included a terrific visit with friends and a yummy lunch!
For today’s efforts? Lentil soup in the pot!
