Welcome May Day indeed! Finally, the sun is shining, the buds are bursting forth, and there’s a hint of warmth in the air.
I took a short drive around the perimeter of our town and found buds on trees and bushes everywhere – all ready to burst with leaves and blossoms!
By the covered bridge overlooking the Kennebecasis River…

All around the bridge buds were straining to get going …
Back in our front yard, a robin posed happily in the white lilac tree, scanning the greening lawn for signs of worms waiting to be devoured.
That tree is almost ready to leaf-out, as is the purple lilac shrub in the garden. It makes me happy to know that there will be warmth, soon.
