Seasons change

I’ve never really been one to wax eloquent about spring like poets of prior centuries. Instead, I’ve always preferred autumn here in the Merry Times with its vibrant colours of red, gold and orange. Something changed this year and today, as I wandered around our yard, camera in hand, I truly appreciated the burgeoning new life of spring, probably for the first time in a long time.

Unlike my brother and sister-in-law, I’m not much of a gardener. But, I do appreciate the efforts of others and also the displays that Mother Nature provides throughout the seasons. These wee flowers on the trees are so pretty – even if they do make me sneeze!

We have several hosta plants in our garden that we planted several years ago. At first they were tiny, now they’ve spread and, as the season progresses, they will cover the ground completely.

I went for an 11.5 km bike ride this morning to enjoy the sunshine and fresh air, and then settled down at home to play in the yard with my camera. Not bad for an ‘elderly’ person!

Once I completed my brief tour of the yard (it doesn’t take long; it’s small), I parked on the deck to play with a new ‘prop’ that a friend of mine in Nova Scotia gave to me during my visit last month.

The coffee bean bag I bought from #PicadillyCoffeeRoasters made a perfect backdrop.

Spring is nice – especially when you get out and enjoy it!
