As the frigid temperatures of early February persist they make staying home preferable to venturing out much. I spend more time perusing the news – traditional media outlets and several different on-line ones. The crescendo of negative news, particularly about the nation to the south of Canada, for the past year is having a definite impact on people’s mental health around the globe.

Sometimes I feel like this giant lone maple tree standing against the elements at the top of a snow covered hill – speaking into an abyss of ignorance and blissful oblivion.
So many people are just shrugging their shoulders or burying their heads in the sand, particularly in the USA but also here in Canada. They are ignoring the growing threat to their safety and well being by just hoping that those who are orchestrating what is essentially a coup will go away or “someone” will stop them.
Wake up folks! It ain’t gonna happen!
Pay attention. Seek out sources of legitimate, verifiable news. Speak up to anyone who will listen. Make your politicians aware of your feelings – deluge their offices with letters and phone calls. Refuse to bow down to those who wish to be OVERLORDS.
Here in Canada, when the next election is called, please THINK before you vote. Don’t blindly vote for the CONservatives because all you’ve heard is hatred toward Justin Trudeau and, by extension, the Liberal party. P. Poilievre is NOT the answer for Canada and is closely aligned with Musk and Trump, enjoying the endorsement that’s been offered.

Seek out light in these dark times and shine yours widely. Peace and freedom can be saved.
I don’t normally write and post political essays but perhaps it is time for us all to stand up and speak out in whatever way we can – verbally, visually, in person and on line. We can’t wish the evil away.

Spring – warmer weather and brigher days will come if we all work together.
