I’ve always said that, for the shortest month of the year, it feels like the longest. November is gray but you can look forward to December with all of its lovely lights and decorations. Even January, although cold, if it snows a decent amount is quite pretty. February suffers from being that middle-month, getting closer to spring but ever so slowly.
Today the sun is shining brightly but it is SO cold. Going outside is NOT a pleasure but rather something to be endured if the reward is spending time with a friend or capturing some lovely photographs.

In the yard, “our” cardinal was hosting a party with a dozen or so of his friends. Meanwhile, at the suet block on the deck, a woodpecker was chipping away at his fill of the goodies while the cardinal watched from a distance, hoping to get a chance at some other treats.

So I’ll leave you with that cheery thought – in hard times, cold days, always share with those less fortunate.
