The surise this morning was red in true “sailor take warning” style. It was cold, but there was no wind blowing, so I ventured out to see what I could see.

The sky behind my favourite tree in Penobsquis warned of what is to come later on this afternoon. The prediction is for snow, followed by ice pellets and freezing rain. That should make a wonderful mess on the roads and in the driveways around the province. Driving will be, at best, treacherous, and at worst, impossible. My plan is to stay home, hunker down with the fireplace, a good book and a decent pot of tea for the day. I’m sure that Lucy and Harley (our cat and dog) will be happy with that plan – especially if it includes a few treat biscuits to come their way.

This is one of a few plants kept indoors at #ThePicadillyCoffeeRoasters shop in Sussex. I stopped there briefly to enjoy a cup of coffee and a chat with a friend for a wee while before heading home to start the storm preparations.
Two loaves of Irish soda bread cooling on the counter (actually 1 1/2 because we cut into one as soon as they came out of the oven). Pizza dough making will commence soon. The sky has clouded over and the air has the ominous feel of impending preciptation. Stay home and stay safe my friends.
