While waiting eons for the polls to close and the ballots counted, I thought I’d share a little early spring photography. Things are slowly developing on the trees, bushes and in the garden.

In our garden, the hostas are pushing up through the winter’s detritus, ready to spread their variegated leaves.

Our lilac bush in the garden is budding out beautifully.

And the white lilac tree in the middle of our yard is also getting ready to show off later in the season.

Shrubs and trees, that when their foliage and flowers are in full bloom shelter us from the sight and sounds of passing traffic, are getting ready for the warmer days when we can sit out on our deck under the red metal pergola and enjoy the season.

Even the maple tree is teasing us with beautiful buds laden with colour.
Whatever the weather today – sunshine, clouds or anything else – just dress for it. It’s Canada and the weather can be fickle. Regardless, head to the polls. Every vote counts when the future of our country is at stake!
