Seasonal Bike Rides: Capturing Autumn’s Beauty

Early this morning, I looked out the window to assess whether or not I would enjoy a bike ride in the brisk autumn air. The temperature read 5ºC (40ºF), but there was no wind that I could discern moving the leaves on the trees along our yard.

So, I headed out to pedal my usual route. As I was going along the Earnhardt Road, I noticed a number of cars stopping at the side of the road. Naturally, I had to stop and check it out. Just above the hayfield next to the road, slowly descending, was a lovely hot air balloon. Naturally, I had to capture a few photos!

When I turned to leave, I then noticed another balloon floating gracefully out toward Roachville.

Despite the nippy air, with minimal wind, it was a perfect morning for these folks.

I pedalled through town and then headed onto the Sussex Nature Trail. There’s still a canopy of colour above the trail, but the woods along either side are carpeted in red and gold.

It would never do to not have seasonally appropriate socks to wear! I ordered a selection of (compression) footwear from #Viasox. They arrived in short order and once washed, are currently displayed on the clothesline. I love these socks! They do their job, are comfortable and cute as well

While sorting the photos for my comments above, I also had three taken last evening while watching TV. Lucy (the cat) LOVES Harley’s big bed to snuggle into, despite having her own, more appropriately sized bed. She claimed his! Then, she left for a bit, so Harley immediately (and somewhat nervously) curled up on his own bed while Lucy was relegated to her own smaller bed. It didn’t last long!

Smug, isn’t she? Such is life in the autumn in Picadilly!
