It’s a Snowy Sunday morning

Last night, Mother Nature blanketed our area with a few inches of snow. It wasn’t a mammoth drop, just enough to get the shovels and snow plows out to smooth things over.

The temperature is relatively mild for mid-January, -5ºC, and there’s no wind. So, I donned a pair of warm winter boots, plunked a toque on my head and took off for a stroll down Mulberry Lane.

The sky is dull, but the sun is trying to peek through. The muddy field on the right looks much cleaner with a little coat of white on top.

The field on the left and the lone pine tree in the distance also benefited from a fresh coat of snow. Naked fields in winter can be so depressing!

Back at home, the flaming bush and white lilac tree are showing off their winter coats as well. With temperatures rising slightly, I expect much of the snow on the branches will drop off this afternoon. Tonight’s predicted snowfall will no doubt cover them again.

Although I’m not an outdoor winter sport enthusiast, today’s stroll in the fresh air was refreshing. It’s not how far you go, or how quickly, it’s just that you go, right?
