Spring is edging closer and closer

It’s March 1st, and that means we are over the ‘hump’ of winter. Naturally, there will be more cold days and some snow, especially around St. Patrick’s Day, but it won’t last!

It will be a while until we see flowers pushing through the currently-frozen earth, but I decided to have a bit of fun today playing with some macro photography and using the ring flash on various objects. Joel gave me a bouquet of flowers earlier in the week and they made for some lovely subject material.

Some are on their “last legs” but they are still lovely!

Then, there’s the fun of playing with various editing techniques… Reminds me of a song, “Don’t it make my brown eyes blue?” (Or, in this case, turning a white mum blue)

I also included a couple of pieces of pottery just to see what would happen.

Playing inside on a dull day is fun – and warmer than being outside in the damp cool air.

Just a different angle.

With this little bowl, I loved the simplicity of white on white – on wood.

Just a hint of brighter things to come! Happy March 1st. Why not celebrate for no special reason? Exactly.
