A new world to me
In 2013, I joined a group of intrepid equine photographers, led by Italy’s Paula da Silva, to explore the world of equines in the North Eastern State of Bahia, in Brazil. We visited several haras (ranches) that specialized in breeding Brazil’s national horses – the Mangalarga Marchador and the Campolina. At each location we had the opportunity to capture images of horses at all stages of life – foals, mares and stallions – both in motion and in static poses. It was an amazing opportunity and I’m so glad to have had the privilege of being there for a few weeks. The topography varied from tropical, sandy beaches with palm trees waving to stark, dry desert landscapes with cacti. The people we met along the way were delightful – friendly, welcoming and thrilled to help us capture their horses at their best.
“Welcome to a world of limitless possibilities, where the journey is as exhilarating as the destination, and where every moment is an opportunity to make your mark on the canvas of existence. The only limit is the extent of your imagination.”
