Summer sights

The sounds and sights of summer depend on where you are or where you go. Where we live, we are surrounded by farm country – huge hay and corn fields just now reaching their peak of the growing season.

Corn stalks stretching up to the sun

Crouched at the entrance to the cornfield I can hear the rustle of the stalks as they reach up to the warmth of the sun and the gentle hum of bees and other insects busily going about their lives.

Farmer Brown’s (yes, that’s his real name) cows will be well fed this winter!

On this long week-end, that marks the high point of the summer season, I hope you are out and about enjoying yourselves. Take a moment to pause and appreciate all that Mother Nature has to offer!
