How lucky were the organizers and participants in the 2022 Hampton Riding Centre Horse Show? Very, I’d say. The predicted rain held off as 50+ competitors entered the many classes offered for the day – from Cross Rail Hunter to the $5 Bareback ride and the Costume Class, and everything in between. The 100+ spectators enjoyed the day immensely. Cars were parked along the Lakeside Road, both sides of Route 860 and beyond as far as the eye could see! And, they just kept coming.
These entry-level shows are definitely needed to help introduce new (or returning) riders of all ages, or those with young and inexperienced horses, to the show ring, get some mileage, and have fun! To keep everyone happy the Pony Club family provided a BBQ canteen with hot dogs, burgers, treats and drinks all for very reasonable prices.
Although I was only able to stay for the first half of the show, I was able to grab some photos. Enjoy.

For some of the wee ones, the excitement was just too much!
