It was an unseasonably warm morning for this year’s Remembrance Day observance in Sussex, NB. Leaves still clung to some trees and the birds hadn’t yet stripped the trees of all of their berries.

A large crowd gathered at the Cenotaph in the middle of town to watch the ceremony and show their respect to those soldiers still serving, those who served in the past and those who perished in service to their country.

There wasn’t a parking space to be had in the blocks near the centre of town as people of all ages came together. Prayers were offered, salutes given and wreaths laid.

An excellent tribute and a reminder that such ultimate sacrifices should not be needed – here or anywhere in the world.
