The sun is shining and the temperature has exceeded 20ºC at long last! I managed to get in an 11+km bike ride this morning and then came home to do a little gardening.
After getting cleaned up, I headed out to check on my favourite tree (and the most famous one in Penobsquis) to see how she looked on this beautiful sunny late-spring day!

This huge old tree, standing alone on the top of a hill, has served as a beacon for generations of travellers passing by. When I had a job that required a lot of road trips around the Maritimes, I always looked on the horizon for that tree knowing that, when I spied it, I was almost home again.

She’s beautiful and speaks to me every time I see her, long branches reaching up to the sky.
And, of course, I introduced her to my St. Andrews talisman!

They had a lovely chat, I’m sure. It is, as we say here in the Merry Times, a large day!

Such a beautiful beacon!
