After absolutely incredible heat a few days ago, we’ve been enduring nasty cold temperatures for this time of year and periodic torrential rains. Nobody is complaining, however, since there are horrible forest fires during throughout the Maritimes and elsewhere across Canada. The cover temperatures and rainfall are welcomed by exhausted firefighters, distressed and displaced home owners and terrified wildlife.

So, I’m keeping my artistically created (by Zach Reisman) umbrella handy, hoping the wind won’t rip it from my hands if I have to venture outside.
Meanwhile, with multiple days of this weather upon us, I’m enjoying reading the book that was given to the participants in the Creative Photography Retreat two weeks ago in St. Andrews. Thank you to Michelle Lane of Chasing Zen Yoga for the thoughtful gift. It is eye-opening.

The Retreat leader, Sylvie Mazerolle, also gave each of us gifts one of which was a small journal notebook. Definitely something both lovely and useful for a writer and photographer.

Last night I was invited to go to a meeting of the “Fresh 4-H Club Rabbit Project” group held in Norton. There is an amazing community building barely visible from the highway. I had no idea it even existed until last night. The group leaders, children and their “bunnies” were a lot of fun to work with. This morning I picked a couple of the (many) photos to play with and it helped pass yet another damp and dismal day.
