Ellen McCaskill and her husband, Dan, fell in love with our wee farm in Smiths Creek and were delighted when they discovered that it was for sale. They enjoyed the property for several years while making friends in the community. Dan died a few years ago and Ellen continued to live in the adorable wee house with the great front porch for sitting and relaxing!
Yesterday Ellen’s family and friends gathered to say goodbye. She died on September 1st, luckily with no lingering illness to prolong the process – just as she would have wanted if she’d had the choice.
Ellen was a force to be reckoned with – full of life and laughter. She enjoyed the many friends she made in Sussex over the years – her bridge buddies, those she met through her hospice work, and, of course, the swimming friends she made. Her raucous laughter will be missed by all who knew her.
