The 34th annual Atlantic International Balloon Fiesta is happening as we speak. Several balloons went up last evening and, more by good luck than good planning, I saw them landing in the field across the road from our house.
This morning they went up again to the delight of spectators. Although ground fog lingered, it was lovely to see them rise above it and sail gently away. I’m sure those who had rides were thrilled with the experience.

Here’s hoping tonight’s opening ceremonies and evening flights go well as Hurricane Dorian’s arrival tomorrow will put the kibosh on outdoor festivities for a day at least. Fingers crossed!
