Little things make a difference – in creativity, in photography and, of course, in life.

I am fortunate to have some good friends, one of whom came by for a quick visit yesterday. I’ve ‘adopted’ her children as my surrogate grandkids, since mine live a continent away. On occasions like birthdays, Hallowe’en and Christmas, we try to exchange visits, treats or small gifts – always given with warmth and affection.

My friend and her husband have an artisan cheese business and a gift of their wonderful cheeses is always appreciated. This year, though, she surprised me with a lovely floral centrepiece.

The colours were perfect, and it was all of the wee things that our local florist included in the arrangement that made it that much more special.

White frosted pine cones and greenery to offset the red flowers and ‘fruit’ provided a perfect balance to the whole arrangement.

Set in an adorable mug with a seasonal motif, the centrepiece adds colour and cheer to our table and our home.
Many thanks to the Smyth family for making us part of their family too.

Beautiful shots! Thanks for sharing!
