I went for an exploratory stroll along the banks of Trout Creek the other day. As the water has risen, dropped, risen and dropped several times, the long dead grasses on the shores have been beaten down.

Still, water will always find a way to tunnel through the matted growth and keep flowing.

Since the temperatures are rising, it won’t be long before this monochromatic brown vista will begin to show evidence of burgeoning life with tiny green shoots finding their way up toward the sun.

My companion was looking somewhat pensive on that day.
