Yesterday I headed to St. Martins with some friends from the #KennebecasisCameraClub. The sun was shining and although the breeze from the Bay of Fundy kept things a bit cool, the sun had strength.

St. Martins is a fishing village on the shores of the world-famous Bay of Fundy – home to the highest tides in the world. At low tide, the fishing boats tied up at the wharf rest on the ocean bottom. When the tide comes in, it lifts the boats 30-40 feet up to the top of the wharf.

The first thing we all did upon arrival was to head across the road to the Café for some hot coffee and a freshly baked treat.
Following that, we all began wandering around the main area of the town. The town recently built an amphiteatre for outdoor summer entertainment, so we went in that direction, capturing photos of the surroundings and the fascinating rock formations and textures carved by the centuries of tides.

We also took the time to practice a bit of portrait photography, playing with light and depth of field. All followed by a tasty lunch and a stop at the Octopus Ice Cream shop!
It was “time well spent” with good friends, good food, good weather and good travels!
